In this blog we will discuss AMU reserved Seats for Sports Category and Debator. Students won’t even know that if they are not selected from Exam, they can use sports quota to get admission in AMU. Seats reserved for outstanding debator is less compared to Sports.
AMU reserved some seats for Sports students and for those who are debator. They do so provide equal and fair chance to everyone.

PROCEDURE FOR DEBATER & TALENT CATEGORY TRIALS:
Debate: English, Hindi & Urdu
1. The motion for the debate as well as the side (for or against the motion) will be given to the candidates on the spot at the venue. The candidates will not have the freedom to choose the side of the motion.
2. Each candidate will be given a maximum of four (3 + 1) minutes to speak. He/she will get 05 minutes preparation time.
3. Candidates will be evaluated overall on the basis of their content, logical argumentation, manner of presentation. Emotional, obstinate and ornamental speech lacking content and logic will be penalised.
4. Candidates are advised to bring pen and paper to help them prepare their arguments. However, reading out from the paper while debating will not be allowed (the candidates can at most look at their jottings time to time).
5. Possession and use of mobile phone / any other electronic device is strictly prohibited during the trial.
Music: Indian / Western
1. Each candidate will be required to introduce the item/Raag & Taal in not more than 30 seconds.
2. Each candidate will be given a maximum of 3 minutes to perform.
3. Musical instrument, if needed by the candidate, may be provided subject to availability.
4. Possession and use of mobile phone / any other electronic device is strictly prohibited during the trial.
Creative & Journalistic Writing: English, Hindi & Urdu
1. Topics will be announced at the venue.
2. Candidates will have to complete writing in a maximum of 500 words.
3. Candidates will be given 30 minutes to complete their work.
4. Possession and use of mobile phone / any other electronic device is strictly prohibited during the trial.
Fine Arts: Sketching & Painting
1. Candidates will be required to make still life drawing.
2. The candidate is expected to bring his/her own required drawing, sketching and painting material. No material shall be provided at the venue except an A3 water colour sheet.
3. Candidates will be given one hour to complete their work.
4. Candidates must bring their detailed portfolio at the time of trial.
5. Possession and use of mobile phone /any other electronic device is strictly prohibited during the trial.
Dramatics/Theatre:
1. Candidates will be required to create and perform a scene of 4-minutes duration on the basis of directions and elements provided on the spot.
2. Each candidate will be given a maximum of 5-minutes preparation time.
3. Candidates may be asked to discuss the scenes they have presented.
4. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of scene content, innovative use of prescribed elements, acting ability and capacity for process analysis.
5. Candidates imitating film scenes, famous actors and using material from the internet will be penalised.
6. Candidates may present their scenes in Hindi, Urdu or English.
